1) have tons of copies of petitions printed, and MANY WORKING pens handy.

2) have a few copies of list of senators and their states handy for people to reference

3) Attention getters:
*a Big white board w/ referendum question written LARGE: "People Republic
of China's (PROC) PLA to remove their ~ 500 units of Surface-to-Surface,
Tung-Fong 15 or the similar Missiles away from Threating Taiwan and
Taiwaneses; PRoChina must publicly denounce that China's PLA's shall never
use the Military Forces for trying the re-unification of Taiwan with China."
*Full page printout of the political cartoon i sent you all
*Sign stating: "PETITION TO 1) support the Right of people living in
Taiwan to exercise DEMOCRACY by voting on a Referendum, 2) Support the
REMOVAL of the 500 missiles currently pointed at Taiwan, 3) Support PEACE
acrosst eh Taiwan Strait

4) Schpiel:
"Are you interested in this current issue? Right now, 500 missiles are
pointed at Taiwan from China. Taiwan wants to pass a referendum law which
would allow the people to poll their opinion on whether China Should
Renounce the Use of Force in the Futre; but China has found this referendum
to be so provocative as to threaten to attack Taiwan.
Last week, when the Premier of China came to the US, for diplomatic
reasons, President Bush gave the concession that when the Premier of China
stood right next to Bush, Bush publicly discouraged Taiwan from holding the
referendum--a REFERENDUM, which is a BASIC DEMOCRATIC RIGHT, and BASIC
DEMOCRATIC PROCESS for any democracy in the world.
This petition generally expresses discontent over Bush's comments. Read
over the petition yourself, and if you decide to sign----we are collecting
the petitions, and we will compile them and send it to all the individual
Senators. You can find your own Senator (or Senators; you can sign 2) on
this list, and put their name at the top, and your home residence at the
bottom, and we will send them for you."

5) organize the final total petitions into piles of Senators, make cover
letters of explanation (people's extremely supportive, concerned reactions;
how many are enclosed; how many in all were collected in total for all
Senators), and send them off!
