You have entered a select compilation of news articles, editorials, documents voicing the tensions that have existed and grown concerning the Taiwan and China conflict, and the US's continually evolving stance and relation to these tensions.

The origins, complexities, and nuances within the Taiwan and China conflict date back to over a half-century ago-however, this website was created out of a need to organize and present the multitudinous amounts of information and energies that have surfaced in communications and the media since DECEMBER 2003, as a result of heightened military threats towards Taiwan from China, anticipation of imminent change in US foreign policy towards Taiwan, and concerns over Taiwan's proposed national referendum and election in March 2004, amongst other issues.

Within the editorial voices that appear in some of these articles are Taiwanese, Taiwanese-American, American analysts, and American governmental policy makers, that believe in the alliance and need for solidarity between America's democratic values and ideals, and Taiwan's national policies that reinforce its established democracy and the self-determination of the 23-million citizens of Taiwan, free of military threat.
