Equation editors are tools
used to generate mathematical and scientific equations.
This report will analyze several equation editors currently
available on the market.
Areas of comparison and analysis include usability, price, availability,
features, and technical support.
Recommendation:
After careful research, the products of Design
Sicence are certainly among the most popular and easy-to-use.
The Microsoft Equation Editor that came with Microsoft Word is
a Design Science product. (Insert --> Object --> select
Microsoft Equation; you might need the Word installation CD the
first time you use it). It can easily be used for creating and
editing equations in research papers, tests and quizzes, reports,
and presentations. It is also a good (and free) way to become
familiar with Design Sciencae's equation editor software. (The
differences between Microsoft Equation Editor and MathType can
be found in the Math Type section below.)
